Artist Statement

I draw and paint, what excites my eyes. Most exciting and motivating to me is how light creates colors and contrast more than the subject itself. Each subject identifies to me the style and materials it needs to be portrayed in. A rough pine cone might call for pen and ink with a stippling technique but a softly shaded flower may call for the fluidity of watercolors. I try to show what I see through my materials and style. My hope is to convey to the viewer what my eyes say to my hands.
